8th International Symposium on the Plant Hormone Ethylene
Abstract submission
The abstract submission deadline for consideration for an oral presentation is April 1, 2009. Abstracts submitted after this date can only be presented as posters.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words (Times New Roman, size 12) and submitted as a single-spaced pdf (preferable) or MS Word document in the format indicated below. Name your file with your surname followed by ethylene abstract, e.g., smith ethylene abstract.doc. For multiple abstracts add the number at the end of the word abstract. Email abstracts to ethylene@cornell.edu
All abstracts will be for poster presentations, which will be displayed throughout the conference. However the program committee will select a certain number for oral presentations. If you would like to have your submission considered for an oral presentation please so indicate in the transmitting e-mail.
Abstract formatting:
Set the lateral margins so that the text fits in 6.5" or 16.5cm
Title in bold, font Times New Roman, font size 12 and a maximum of 85 characters including spaces.
Jane Doe1 and John Dee2 (authors listed with presenting author underlined and affiliations distinguished numerically).
Presenter email (include the words Presenter email) xxyy@university.edu
1 Department of Horticulture, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853 USA, 2 Department of Plant Breeding, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611, USA
Abstract text totaling 300 words or less.
There will be no meeting proceedings, only an abstract book, for this symposium. However it is hoped to produce longer versions, on a CD, of the data presented for the use of conference participants. If you would like to make such an account available to other participants, please write it as a short paper, not to exceed six pages in length at 6.5 inches or 16.5 cm wide and 9 inches or 23 cm high. You may include any figures you wish, but these must be incorporated into the text together with a caption. These short papers should be submitted as pdf (preferable) or MS Word as a separate file, designed to immediately follow the abstract, without further repeating the title. The file should be named with your surname and the word paper, e.g., smith paper.doc. They will be copied to the CD as submitted without editing. They will not constitute a publication and therefore should not be a referenced by other participants. These mini papers may be submitted at the same time as the abstract, or at a later date but prior to May 1st. This CD will be handed to participants at registration.
