The Liberty Hyde Bailey Garden Club of Ithaca was formed by a group of gardeners at Cornell University some forty years ago. While it was originally a men's garden club, membership has been open to women for the last ten years. We are a chapter of The Gardeners of America/Men's Garden Club of America.
Our members have a wide range of interests - vegetables, flowers, trees and shrubs, houseplants, or just about any other garden topic you can think of! We are a down-to-earth, friendly group of gardeners and we welcome new members with open arms. We meet each month, on the second Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Horton Room at the Floriculture Greenhouse, Tower Road on the Cornell University campus. Visitors are always welcome.
"One does not begin to make a garden until he wants a garden.
To want a garden is to be interested in plants, in the winds and rains,
in birds and insects, in the warm-smelling earth."
